Some days I have to stand in awe of that fact that I not escorted out of places by security more often than I am (yes, usually it is Walmart and usually it is very much on purpose. Perhaps those stories in a later entry?) and tonight was one of those nights.
I was stopping in the store on my way to work to pick up some items that I will need on my trip and wanted to make sure that I have them on hand when I begin the grueling packing process.
While walking down the middle of the store, a group of teens came shooting up the aisle! They were all riding on/hanging off of one of those motorized wheelchair carts. Since I do try my best not to pass judgment on people since you never know what silent disease or pain someone might be dealing with I will here pretend that I took it to heart that these kids were just the heartbreaking victims of some terrible uncurable disease, perhaps the ailment called immaturity?, and they were being discriminated against by the superstore who refused to carry enough motorized chairs for them all. Touching, isn't it. Oh, but you just wait! Our story has a happy ending!
It was here, in the middle of Walmart, in front of the seasonal sales, that I became witness to what has to be the greatest miracle ever seen in the aisle of capitalist America! It was here that 5 teenage kids that the world had given up on, walked again for the first time! If I had not seen it with my own eyes, I might not have believed it either. These 5 kids put the chair in park, in the middle of the walking area but we will forgive them this since they were obviously overtaken in their joy, and stood up and walked! It was as if the great (and false, in my personal opinion, though you are entitled to disagree as you wish) healer Benny Hinn had descended upon the Walmart and started beating bodies down with his particular brand of healing. (Do the people that he heals ever need additional healing from his beating the evil out of them??)
So overwhelmed by the moment, I didn't even realize I was speaking until the words were already out! I had begun to shout "It's a miracle! Praise Jesus, they've all been healed! They can all walk again!" You should have seen their faces, they were as amazed at the mass healing as I was!
Of course, as soon as I heard my own words being loudly proclaimed, I dashed down a side aisle and was overtaken by a fit of righteous giggles which lasted much to long and put me in a great mood for the rest of the evening.
So in honor of the great and fantastic things witnessed this evening and the possible, though unseen, involvement of the greatest mass healer of our generation, I have decided to post my favorite video of Hinn healing his people (set to a very catchy tune that strangely fits well). Just a note, if you are easily offended or have no sense of humor, first of all, what the heck are you doing here on my blog??? Second of all, you might not wish to hit play below. You will probably have that annoying 20 second ad in which you can make your mind of for sure. The rest of you who are as twisted and depraved as myself, first of all, welcome and second of all, ENJOY!!
