One Thing Every Day,,,

As my trip to the UK nears, I realize that I have once again become comfortable in my life and perhaps even slightly complacent. Though comfortable and cozy, this is not a place you ever want to find yourself in life!  Though this suspicion had been creeping in on my subconscious for a while, it was still a moment of self-realization when I finally decided it was time to once again follow the timeless advice of some of the most amazing and inspiring people I will never meet:

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” - Mark Twain

"Do one thing every day that scares you" - Eleanor Roosevelt

The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.
You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do. - Eleanor Roosevelt

With these things in mind, I have decided to make myself a challenge to do one thing every day!
Whether it be one thing that scares me or one thing that makes me happy, it just has to be one moment that I make a conscious decision to engage in that I would otherwise not have taken the time to undertake.

There was a time, not too many months ago, where this was just simply the way I lived my life and I am doing this to make sure that by the time my trip comes around, mindfully living life to its fullest will have once again become just instinct rather than something that takes conscious effort.

To keep myself true to my intentions, I will be posting here what it was that I chose for that day and how it turned out.  I can't promise it will always be entertaining, but there is a better than good chance that I will be making a complete idiot of myself (on purpose at that!) at some point, so maybe it will be worth the read!

A ship may be safe in the harbor, but that is not what ships were made for...time for me to sail away from my comfort zone! Bon Voyage my friends!
